My Heart’s Longing is to Love You

I long to love you.

I long to see your face when I wake up in the morning.

I long to enjoy a warm cup of coffee with you before the day begins.

I long to be the home that you come to after a long, hard day.

I long to have you lay your head on my chest and let my heartbeat quieten your mind.

I long to hear how you are.

I long to make you laugh,

I long to comfort you when you cry.

I long to help you when you need a hand,

I long to walk beside you, hand in hand.

I long to run on the beach with you,

I long to cuddle by the fireplace with you.

I long to bring out the best in you.

I long to cheer you on as you become the fullness of yourself.

I long to fill you up when the world has drained you.

I long to see you brim over with goodness and blessings.

I long to see you build your home in my heart.

I long for you to trust me with your heart.

This longing leaves me parched to depths of my soul.

Take my heart and fill my longing,

Allow me to love you, and give you my all.

  1. Yet another beautiful poem. I have to interrupt this could be a poem of a lost love or unrequited love.
