Being hopeful in every circumstance

(Continuation of Post Break-up Analysis).

Washed up on the shore,

Carried to safety by the waves of the cold Atlantic

The sun’s rays gently seep through my frozen body

Eyes open and inhale.

Rough seas have softened

The white sand shines like crystals against the turquoise hue of the sea

I am wrapped in the blanket of the clear blue sky

The swelling subsides,

The bruises begin to fade,

Osteoclasts fix my broken bones,

Dislodged joints snap back into their sockets,

Pass out.

Wake up.

Drink water.

Collect the bullshit,

Mix it with mud, thatch and wood,

Build a sturdy structure.

Take a deep breath,

You deserve to celebrate that you’re alive.

New place,

But not for long,

Humans can create new homes.

Tornadoes get sucked up,

Grey clouds blow over,

The sun shines again,

Everything reconnects.

  1. Lovely message here, although the start confuses me. Does the ice symbolise that the person was in actual ice or that they were cold like death and the new place began to warm them up?

    1. Hey Rhonda πŸ™‚ Thanks so much for your comment. I meant the second part – cold like death and the new place began to warm them up. I changed the beginning to portray this meaning better. Please do let me know if it reads better. We write and we learn πŸ™‚ Thanks for pointing that out πŸ™‚
