How many times have you wanted to confront your boss about a business decision they took on that negatively affected your income?
Well, Uber driver Fawzi Kamel took the opportunity to express his frustrations with his pay as an Uber driver to CEO Travis Kalanick while driving him in his preferred black car, high-end service to his destination.
A heated argument ensued when Kamel raised the point of falling fares, saying that Uber keeps dropping prices every season to grow ridership without considering drivers’ salaries, which don’t even amount to minimum wage. He also said that Uber doesn’t take drivers into consideration as partners, which was part of the initial set up of the company, as drivers aren’t consulted with regards to changes that affect their work.
The video release of the altercation prompted Kalanick to send an apology to all Uber staff, in which he said that he is ashamed of his actions and must ultimately change as a leader.
